Naypyidaw Sports Training

Burma hosted the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in December 2013 with competition in 24 sports featuring athletes from 11 countries. Naypyidaw—Burma’s capital city located 320 kilometers/200 miles north of Yangon—is primarily where Myanmar’s athletes train.
Our High School students' field trip included touring facilities and interviewing local athletes who will compete in wushu, karate, judo, pencak silat, rifle and pistol shooting, wrestling, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, vovinam, tarung derjat, badminton, table tennis, taekwondo, sepaktakraw (pite kyaw chin), archery, sailing, traditional boat racing, and track and field events.
